Working from home “works” for me! – Archer

I followed all the rules, I went to school, I got an education, I completed my degree, but I was never able to secure a “good job.” Most of the jobs I have had have been for the sole purpose of paying bills. I was caught up in the rat race and was not satisfied with the amount of time I was spending away from my children.

My name is Malaika Archer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and four children. My children range from 3 to 9 years old. My youngest are twin girls. After discovering I was pregnant with my youngest, I left the 9 to 5 world because it no longer fit my agenda. I decided to focus on raising my children. It was a bit of a transition. While at home, I looked around for areas I could use my skill set.

I decided to tap into what comes to me naturally and that was writing. I am a regular contributor to a blog – https://www.themultiplebirthexperience.com/post/happily-ever-after – I am a content writer and I am in the process of launching my own website/blog highlighting my journey in life, focusing especially on motherhood and the work-life balance. I work in the financial industry part-time as well. I always keep my options open and currently I am looking for contract positions as a freelancer.
